Moab, Utah

Renee had arranged a cute Airbnb 3 bedroom home for our stay. Moab is a quaint small town and oh so clean. Moab is surrounded by an the abundance of Natural Wonders: the Arches NP, Cayonlands NP, the Colorado River Basin and several State Parks. It is a haven for the outdoors man, whether it be for photography, hiking, rafting, ATV, Jeep exploring or just absorbing the atmosphere.

A great tribute to Moab was that both Daughters said, "We're coming back here"!

Colorado River Basin

This is the beginning, of what I refer to as he Colorado River Basin. This is a foot bridge paralleling the highway bridge across the river, as it approaches the Moab area. Immediately to the left in the dark sandstone is the beginning of the Arches NP, but for now lets go up the river and do a little sightseeing.

WOW! look what have we found. Not one but two Guest Ranches located adjacent to the river. These cabins are first class accommodations. Living High on the Hog!

This is a spectacular setting with the beauty of the water gently flowing beneath the red rim rock bluffs.

Arches National Park

The Arches was the only Nation Park, where we encountered a Park that was full. We arrived at 8:00 to find the park entrance closed, and were instructed to come back at 2:00pm. We were in line at 1:30 and were quickly allowed to enter the park. I like this; as we have been in National Parks, where it was so crowed that one would have preferred not to have been there. The Arches has a natural control over the numbers in the Park, as there is only one entrance/exit. This makes it handy for the Rangers to control the occupancy numbers, as they know exactly how many vehicles are in the Park at any one time.

The Three Gossips

When I see this formation, my imagination begins to wonder what these pioneers were discussing. Their travel route, the weather, the kids, or is it a moment of joy greeting a neighbor. Look at the Pioneer in the hat and his bonneted wife to the left. I love it when my imagination is running wild and at full steam ahead.

Renee immersed in greatness.

Now this rock was a tough one to get to set perfectly balanced. Why the crane was two days just setting it in there perfectly. But wait was it a crane, or did they erect a derrick? The wonders of Mother Nature.

Did you notice the little people walking below? Rather insignificant aren't they in the scope of nature.

The Double Arches

Like the catacombs the two arches were working together in perfect harmony..

Now look at this arch, and one wonders why the arch is so irregular. I took several photographs before I realized that it was NOT an Arch. But a large white rock in front of a red ledge. Even studying the photograph it can be an optical challenge. However, one does not fool Mother Nature. It is not an arch.

Blink your eyes and look again. .. ha ha. Got You!

The snow capped La Sal mountain range is just east of Moab Utah, and they are the border line between Utah and Colorado. Snow capped peaks are just one of the beauties of spring traveling.

The Skyline Arch

The Court House

The ever changing Arches are maybe better thought of as the Arches of Time.

We were also here at the Arches NP in 2016, and you might be interested in our Travel Log at that time. We had more time in the park then. It is interesting, even in 5 years, how these formations have changed. Wind and Water!

We'd best be getting along, as in the morning we will be traveling to the great Salt Lake City in the Wasatch Front. (Valley)

Come on Willie sing us another verse, and we'll head on down the road.
